Located centrally in heart of Plymouth and two minutes’ walk from the Hoe Promenade which overlooks the historic Plymouth Sound of Sir Francis Drake – one of the largest, natural harbours in the world.
Originally built as the private residence of a high-ranking Naval officer (circa 1820-30s), the communal areas of the building retain many of the original architectural features of this period. Paying homage to its extensive history, the hotel retains many of its original features including the magnificent ornate ceiling in the breakfast room.
The Drake offers 19 rooms set out over four floors and is accessed by traditional staircases, and although there are no lifts at the hotel, we are more than happy to assist guests with their bags if required. All rooms have hotel equality beds, contemporary wooden furniture, en-suite facilities to name a few. We truly stand by the saying “Hospitality is simply an opportunity to show love and care”.
We treat every guest with the love and care that we would hope to receive, regardless of if you are staying for one night on a business trip or a week’s holiday for leisure during warmer climates. Our selection of photos below showcases The Drake in its full array.
